In academic year 2007-08 President Casteen, Provost Garson, and Vice Provost Grossman sponsored the Initiative’s launch, with the goal of creating long-term teaching and research collaborations. The Initiative is flourishing. It involves faculty from a variety of institutions in Panamá and in four schools at the University of Virginia.
